Measures for the containment and management of the epidemiological emergency - update to 09 February 2021

From 15 February 2021 and until further action is taken, subject to amendments or more restrictive measures by the authorities : 

• All lessons will be held in dual/mixed mode with contingent attendance in the classroom, seat reservation, use of D.P.I. and distance and simultaneously at a distance on the MS Teams platform. Only in cases where it will not be possible, for safety reasons, to ensure the mixed mode the lessons will take place at a distance.
• All didactic laboratories will be held in the presence with appropriate distance and use of D.P.I
• Research laboratories, research activities and experimental theses will continue in the presence, as well as the activities of PhD students.
• The exams will be performed in a remote mode. The written tests, where Sicily is a yellow zone and where it is possible to guarantee the safety conditions in the classrooms (spacing, use of PPE, etc...), can also take place in the presence, but in any case it will not be possible to provide more than 50 students per classroom.
• Graduations will be held exclusively in remote mode. With regard to the procedure for submitting theses by the graduate student, it should be noted that, until 30 April 2021, the student has the possibility to send the thesis file 5 days before the opening of the appeal and the speaker can confirm this thesis file up to 3 days before the opening of the appeal.
• Curricular and post-curricular internships can take place in the presence only where the full respect of individual protection measures is guaranteed (distance, use of D.P.I., etc...).
• The reception of students in attendance is allowed if deemed necessary and in compliance with the security measures provided. In other cases, the reception will continue at a distance.
• Travel related to international incoming and outgoing mobility programmes will be allowed after signing an appropriate release. The Sicilian Universities will remain available, in the presence of requests received from foreign universities, in compliance with the directives of the Erasmus agency to to welcome students who can attend in remote mode.
• Libraries will be open only to loan and book return services, while classrooms and reading rooms remain closed.
