Expected Learning Outcomes

• ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY I AND LABORATORY (MOD.2)

Knowledge and understanding:

knowledge of the main chemical aspects relating to analysis procedures

with particular interest in volumetric and gravimetric determinations.

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding:

be able to use analytical procedures for the determination of substances through chemical titration processes.

Making judgments: allowing the objective evaluation of the results also in relation to the quality of the analytical data.

Communication skills: develop and/or improve the ability to explain even complex scientific concepts by implementing technical terminologies suitable for polymeric materials;

Learning skills: Apply analysis techniques to solve analytical chemistry problems.

Basic knowledge of General and Inorganic Chemistry and basic laboratory procedures.

Use of equilibria in solution applied to quantitative determinations. Gravimetric analysis. Precipitation analysis. Precipitate formation. General information on Titrations. Definition of primary standard. Preparation of standard solutions. Standardization procedures. Acid-base titrations. Precipitation titrations. Argentimetry, description of the main argentimetric methods. Complexometric titrations. Titrations with EDTA. Redox titrations. Permanganate based methods. Iodimetry and Iodometry and main determinations.
