Learning Objectives

  • MODULO 1

The course target is, by means of common organic reaction mechanisms analysis, to develope student ability to correlate organic molecules (including some classes of biomolecules such as fatty acids, aminoacids, peptides and carbohydrates) properties and reactivities with their structures and to design synthetic strategies to prepare relatively simple target organic molecules after acquiring the fundamental principles of disconnession approach.

Detailed Course Content

  • MODULO 1

Aromatic hydrocarbons. Aromatic electrophilic substitution reactions. Aromatic nucleophilic reactions. Phenols. Pericyclic reactions. Carbanions as nucleophiles. Biomolecules (Lipids, Carbohydrates, Aminoacids and Proteins, Nucleic acids). Pentatomic Heterocycles. Pyridine. The disconnession approach.
