Applications Open for Ph.D. Programmes – XLII Cycle (Academic Year 2026/2027)

The University of Catania has published the Call for Applications for admission to its Ph.D. Programmes – XLII Cycle (Academic Year 2026/2027).

Applications must be submitted by 12:00 (GMT+1) on 31 July 2026, exclusively through the online application system described in the official call.

The Department of Chemical Sciences would like to highlight the following Ph.D. programmes.

Ph.D. Programme in Chemical Sciences

The Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences, coordinated by Prof. Salvatore Scirè, provides advanced research training in all major areas of chemistry, with a focus on innovative chemical approaches for health, energy and environmental sustainability.

The XLII cycle offers:

• 5 available positions

• 4 scholarship positions

• 1 non-scholarship position

Admission is based on the assessment of qualifications and an oral examination.

Ph.D. Programme in Materials Science and Nanotechnologies

The Ph.D. in Materials Science and Nanotechnologies, coordinated by Prof. Salvatore Mirabella, offers interdisciplinary research opportunities in advanced materials and nanotechnologies, with applications in energy, electronics, environmental sustainability and technological innovation.

The XLII cycle offers:

• 11 available positions

• 10 scholarship positions

• 1 non-scholarship position

Admission is based on the assessment of qualifications and an oral examination.
