42nd PhD Cycle – UNICT PhD Open Session

On Tuesday, 7 July at 4:00 PM, "Generazione Ricerca – UNICT PhD Open Session" will take place at Città della Scienza (Via Simeto 23, Catania). The event is organized by the University of Catania to present the 25 PhD programmes of the 42nd cycle.

The initiative is designed as an informal networking and orientation event for undergraduate and master's students, recent graduates, early-career researchers, public institutions and industry partners interested in learning more about doctoral education at the University of Catania.

Participants will have the opportunity to discover the new admission call, ongoing doctoral research projects, interdisciplinary research networks, international mobility opportunities, and collaborations with research institutions and industry.

From 4:00 PM onwards, visitors will be able to explore an exhibition showcasing research projects carried out by UNICT PhD candidates, organized according to the three European Research Council (ERC) domains:

  • Physical Sciences and Engineering
  • Life Sciences
  • Social Sciences and Humanities

Through presentations, outreach materials and live demonstrations, PhD candidates will share their research activities, international experiences and collaborations with public institutions, companies, research centres and healthcare organizations.

The exhibition will be followed by a round-table discussion involving representatives of the University of Catania, research organizations and industrial partners. Contributions are expected from INFN, INAF-OACT, INGV, CNR, CSFNSM, STLab, Neodata Group, STMicroelectronics, Ambiens s.r.l., Universidade Federal de Viçosa, and Oasi Maria SS. Onlus.

The event will conclude with a networking aperitif, providing an opportunity for prospective PhD candidates to meet faculty members, researchers and representatives from partner institutions and companies.
