PhD Student
PhD in Chemical Sciences - XXXVIII cycle
Tutor: Vincenzo CUNSOLO

Aldo Lanzoni was born in Ragusa (RG) on April 19, 1996. He obtained his master's degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Catania on November 19, 2021, with a final grade of 110/110 cum laude. Since July 2022, he has been qualified to practice as a chemist, having obtained his professional certification from the University of Catania. Since October 31, 2022, he has been a PhD student in Chemical Sciences at the University of Catania (38th cycle), working on a research project focused on proteomic analysis using mass spectrometry methods to study protein fractions derived from legume seeds (supervisor: Prof. Vincenzo Cunsolo).

Thesis title: A comparative MS-based investigation to characterize the protein fraction of two chickpea genotypes subjected to different environmental and agronomic conditions

Keywords: Mass Spectrometry, Proteomics, Cicer arietinum L., Label-Free Quantification

Abstract: Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is one of the third most important legume crop in the world. Up to date, comprehensive studies on agronomic and genetic influences on chickpea protein composition are lacking. Therefore, the aim of the thesis is the development of proteomic approaches to investigate the qualitative and quantitative changes in the protein composition of two chickpea genotype namely Pascià and Sultano grown under different environmental and agronomic conditions.

Stay abroad: from 13/01/2024 to 15/07/2024, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Odense (DK).
