Thesis title: Optical sensors for smart monitoring of air and water pollutants

Keywords: Optical sensor, environmental pollutants, fluorescent probes

Abstract: The project focuses on the development and optimization of sensor arrays for the detection of environmental pollutants, which employ organic fluorescent probes exploiting non-covalent interactions with the analytes. This approach aims to create a portable, sensitive, and versatile point-of-need device capable of real-time detection of multiple hazardous environmental pollutants in different matrices in a single analysis: the same sensor can be used to detect multiple pollutants in air or in water, depending on the studied matrix.
