Learning Objectives

Knowledge and understanding the fundamental principle and the main characteristics of the of reactivity of s-p elements and their compounds correlated to their electronic structure and spatial geometry.

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding how to use the chemical laws and learned concepts in order to solve theoretical and practical problems in a logical and deductive way. Knowing of models and theories required to rationalize and predict s-p elements’ reactivity.

Judgment skills in evaluating the structure and reactivity of inorganic compounds and ability to correlate macroscopic phenomena to chemical bond nature.

Communication skills in communicating the knowledge learned and the results of their application using appropriate terminology, both in oral and written fields. Knowing how to interact with the teacher and students in a respectful and constructive way, especially during work carried out in groups.

Learning skills in taking notes, selecting and collecting information according to their importance and priority.
