Applications Open for Ph.D. Programmes – XLII Cycle (Academic Year 2026/2027)

The University of Catania has published the Call for Applications for admission to its Ph.D. Programmes – XLII Cycle (Academic Year 2026/2027).

Applications must be submitted by 12:00 (GMT+1) on 31 July 2026, exclusively through the online application system described in the official call.

The Department of Chemical Sciences would like to highlight the following Ph.D. programmes.

The Institut National des Sciences Appliquées Centre Val de Loire (INSA CVL) – GREMAN Laboratory, announces the opening of a PhD position co-funded by the Department of Chemical Sciences, University of Catania (DSC).

Erasmus Traineeship Call (KA131)

Publication of the Erasmus Traineeship Call (KA131)

April 2026

This is to inform students that the Erasmus Traineeship Call for Programme and Partner Countries (KA131) has been published. The call is open to students enrolled in first, second, and third-cycle degree programmes who intend to undertake a mobility period between 1 June 2026 and 28 February 2027.

Students enrolled in Bachelor’s degree programmes and Single-Cycle Master’s degree programmes must be enrolled in at least their second year by the application deadline.

Regional Award Ceremony of the Chemistry Games 2026 at the Department of Chemical Sciences

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM, the Department of Chemical Sciences of the University of Catania will host the award ceremony of the regional round of the Chemistry Games 2026, a national competition promoted by the Italian Chemical Society and addressed to upper secondary school students.

Make-up lessons for students of the filter semester – Chemistry B.Sc. Degree Program

All interested students are informed that the schedule for make-up lessons is available on the Degree Program website.

This is information for students in the filter semester who are interested in three-year DSC courses

Students who have completed the filter semester and are interested in enrolling on the three-year BSc degree courses in Chemistry or Sustainable Chemistry for Industry, the Environment and Energy have until 6 March 2026 to do so. Attendance on the filter semester course will be recognised, and in the case of the Chemistry course, 6 credits will be awarded to bring the total for the first semester up to 12. To help students integrate into the degree courses, remedial General Chemistry laboratory courses will be held in June.
